Evenings, weekends and bank holidays

VetsNow

Outside of Sanctuary Vets opening hours, we have partnered with VetsNow to provide out-of-hours emergency care.  VetsNow will support during these hours:

  • Monday – Friday: 7pm – 8am
  • 12pm on Saturday through till 8am on Monday.

They also cover all Bank Holidays. 02392 178 098 – VetsNow

We use VetsNow Emergency Service outside of our normal opening hours only to provide round-the-clock advice and care for our patients. This allows our staff to be well rested and focused for the day shift. The night team are veterinary surgeons and registered veterinary nurses who have received advanced training in emergency and critical care. They will be there to help you in an emergency and also provide care for Sanctuary patients who need hospitalization overnight and during the weekend. VetsNow are based at the Farlington branch and use all of our facilities and equipment.

If you have an emergency outside Sanctuary Vet’s normal working hours, please phone VetsNow directly on 02392 178098. They will ask you a few questions about your pet’s condition and may advise some immediate first aid. You may need to bring your pet to the Farlington surgery. They will have to take your name, address and other details as data protection legislation means they cannot be giving access to our computer system. We appreciate, emergency situations are very stressful but try to stay calm and give them as many details as possible.

VetsNow are happy to take calls at any time through the night – no question is too small and there is no charge for this. They can help you decide if your pet needs to be seen at once or if you should bring it to Sanctuary in the morning. If you are in any doubt, please phone. With some illnesses and injuries, symptoms may develop slowly or seem minor on the surface, thereby making it difficult to determine the need for immediate medical care. If you are concerned at any point or think your pet is in pain please speak with the emergency team. It’s better to double check if you are unsure.
